Washington Postcards

The Story

Cable & Wireless' US office is based in Washington, hence I tend to pop over there every now and then. Here are some photos of the few chances I've had to play tourist.

The very modern interior of the Washington Underground system - all the stations look like this Looking up the National Mall to the Capitol Designer-scaffolding being erected around the Washington Monument ...and a closeup to give you a sense of scale - see the tiny black figures of the workmen?
Looking down the mall towards the Lincoln Memorial I was there in "fall", and the trees were absolutely on fire with colour My visit co-incided with Veteran's Day - here you can see the ceremonies taking place within the Vietnam Memorial Wall Abe Lincoln himself, looking out towards the Washington Monument
Abe's view - the reflecting pool in the foreground The Capitol Building stands out dramatically against a cold autumn sky Lisa will kill me for a) catching her unawares and b) publishing this photo! <grin>
Washington - winter one day... ...Autumn the next! Lisa and John, now engaged to be married! Boys toys - everything a man could want
Digital Photos...
One of the first digital photos I took with my new camera - the sunset from my room at the Sheraton
