The Story
One weekend, I flew back from Washington, met Josie at the airport, and took
off for Oslo in Norway. Our plan was to catch the train from Oslo to Bergen, a
small fishing village on the west coast - "Gateway to the Fjords".
However, imagine our delight (!) when we found that track work prevented any
trains from running, and a bus would take us to Bergen. "Don't worry",
she said in heavily accented English, "it only takes seven hours".
Hmm, ok, same time as the train...pretty impressive. Eleven hours later,
at about 1am, we finally arrived into Bergen...
However, Norway and Bergen are beautiful places - the fjords are like
Pittwater multiplied by a hundred, the people are friendly, and the standard of
living is high. Enjoy the photos!
