Naples

The Story

As part of our trip along the Amalfi Coast, we spent a few hours in Naples. Actually, having been there, we figure that's about all you need! Beautiful churches, crazy traffic, and the georgeous Mediterranean lapping at the beaches.

From our hotel balcony we could see this fabulous fort defending Naples from attack by sea ...and in the other direction, a marina with some fabulous super-yachts in it Looking along the very windy (and hard to find!) road to our hotel Josie and I on the balcony of the Brittanique, with the Med in the background
Josie, looking delighted outside the fort There was a whole series of rowing races being run just off the beach - the crowd was gathered around the shore-end of the finish line Looking across the main square in Naples The magnificent public assembly building in the main square in Naples
Narrow lanes, crowded streets, and plenty of mopeds seem to be the deal in Naples A traffic jam - part one And of course, into the midst of it all rides a moped! A beautiful vine grows in the narrow lane outside this church
